Veto

Kill bad product ideas before you build them.

Veto is a Model Context Protocol server that validates product ideas with unbiased, source-grounded evidence across five structured gates. It returns a GO / NO-GO / CONDITIONAL GO verdict with citations — not vibes. The framework is designed to make confirmation bias structurally impossible.

How it works

Gate 1 — Direct Competitor Scan

Who is the closest existing thing, what have they shipped, where are they weak? Veto surfaces the strongest direct competitor and reads their public changelog for shipped features, then maps explicit weaknesses you could exploit.

Gate 2 — Market Structure

Is the market shaped such that this idea can win a meaningful share? For solopreneurs, that means a niche of roughly 1,000 reachable customers through concentrated channels. For funded teams, a plausible $1B+ TAM. Either bar, made explicit.

Gate 3 — Platform & Big-Tech Risk

Will a platform shift or a hyperscaler shipping this as a system primitive kill the idea inside 24 months? Veto checks Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Meta for encroachment signals before any verdict.

Gate 4 — Willingness to Pay

Will the target customer actually pay enough to make this a business? Public revenue from comparables is the strongest evidence. Auto-flag if competitor pricing has fallen 25%+ over 24 months, or if the category is freemium-only with no profitable paid tier.

Gate 5 — Why Now

What changed in the last 24 months that makes this possible or necessary now? Must be a specific articulable thesis, not “AI got better.” Automatic Inconclusive if no non-obvious why-now exists.

Who it's for

Solopreneurs and small builder teams (1–5 people) evaluating product ideas before committing build time. Funded founders pre-PRD also welcome. If you ship code on weekends and have an idea graveyard, Veto is built for you.
